Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary sits on the eastern edge of Vembanad Lake. From November to February, migratory birds turn the canopy into a slow-moving brochure.

The boardwalk is short — twenty minutes if you don't stop. Most visitors do stop, often for an hour.
